Tabula Rasa

Had my iPhone 4S replaced by the local Apple Store today (battery issues… you don’t even want to know). Due to various other issues I have decided to make a fresh start. I’ve synched contacts and my calendar, but that’s it. Having an empty phone feels very weird right now but I guess I will get used to it – and I’m making sure that I’m only going to install the apps I really need. More of “out with the old, in with the new” – something that has been working well for me lately.

Like a Boss

I don’t even know why I was filming in the first place because I never make videos – I guess it was a lucky coincidence that I captured the penalty kick? My only regret: I should have made the clip shorter prior to uploading (say, only ~7 seconds long) but editing short clips on iMovie for iPad is a real pain (YOU HEAR ME, APPLE??).

Anyways, all the praise for Ashlyn Harris has not been exaggerated. Had she been born in any other country but the USA, she would be the #1 goalie for the national team.

Even older people seem to realize this. As I was leaving the stadium after the match, an elderly German lady (think prototypical granny) yelled “Super, Ashley!” at her – kind of random and cute. Ashley heard her, gave her the thumbs up and yelled back, “Danke!”

And once outside the stadium, a husband and wife duo in their late 50′s were discussing the match and agreed that she could not possibly be blamed for the one goal in the final score (Leverkusen 1 – Duisburg 2).
